Artist's Comments

A sort of commission for a friend of mine. She wasn´t that helpfull with what should the picture be like, besides being sad angsty + including a horse.

At first I had a "love betrayal" in mind, but then thought the picture lacked something, with just the horse standing there in a wintry view. So, I added and owl there, as a messanger.

You´ve all heard stories from old people, how horrifying it was to see messangers knocking the neighbour´s door during night.. hoping the same message they always brought with them, wouldn´t come to their door :(

This mare has just recieved the message, that her love has fallen at the battlefield

The colours of the horse are amazing! I absolutly love it! The background is also very beautiful. It's so christmas-like. The whole drawing doesn't look sad to me. Just the eyes of the horse.

thx! :D well the bird COULD have looked better ^^; though you can maybe imagine how small the bird is (A4 paper), so maked it more difficult. I always think the most beautiful owl-drawings are the ones with a closeup to their face and eyes ;)

thanks :) Yeah I didn´t want to add black to the surroundings, because 1)the mare has that a lot on her fur and 2)it would have maked the picture too gloomy and not angsty. ** Im also glad the eye turned out thisway ^ ^ it would have been harder for me to make a realistic horse-eye to look sorrowful :confused:

:giggle: christmas.. *starts humming* I so enjoyed adding the light falling snow here.. maked the picture look ´silent´ :)

This is maybe my fav horse related work of yours. The horse is stunning and so is the background. You just get better and better! You captured the sadness in her eye wonderfully. The owl ain't bad either. This toughed me greatly. For me christmas is always the most sad time of the year.

Btw 12.12 I'm off from school and beginning from 14.12 I'd be able to see you!

thanks :) So BOOK you calender for 14th of December, girl, cause the two of us are going *low voice* IN-THE-WOODS :evillaugh: With two cats (cause I doubt Kalkaros wants to babysit), booze, chocolade and a gaymovie :D Damn you MUST take your videocamera with you there!! You bring that and I´ll bring our chinese gay duckling ;)
